An Idaho Work Party....

On Tuesday night I was invited to my friend’s work party (all of her colleagues brought their wives….so she brought me and I was honored to be her husband for the night!)! The evening was full of eating food, shooting guns, and 4-wheeling. What more could you need?? I mean work parties back home consist of things such as barbeques and boating…but these days I live in Idaho so I would expect nothing less then getting dirty and shooting stuff at a work party. Before moving to Idaho for college I had never shot a gun or even touched one for that matter and I had definitely never gone bunny hunting (which I was unaware existed) or made dry-ice bombs (turns out this is an illegal activity)! I've always considered myself more of a shopping and primping kind of girl...I guess living in Idaho changes people.

My first semester shooting a gun for the first time ever...it was fun :)

Bunny hunting for the first time (don't worry I would never kill a bunny myself, but the boys did and I just about cried..or maybe I did.)

The area we were in for the work party was actually quite beautiful (that says a lot coming from me) who knew Idaho actually had some pretty areas (no offense to you Idahoans)!? Here are some pics from the evening…you’re going to have to excuse my grunginess I mean I was going to a party full of married men I figured washing my hair and putting mascara on was optional.

The perfect ending to a perfect night!

So here's to experiencing new and unexpected adventures!

A Sunday Picnic.....

This weekends weather has been absolutely perfect. 90 degrees and sunny with no wind (which is a miracle for Rexburg)! So today LP and I decided to head out on a drive (with delicious food on board) to search for the perfect picnic spot, outside of Rexburg of course. We found a beautiful, secluded and shaded spot right by the water. It was wonderful to get out of Rexburg for a little while and to enjoy some summer weather. It's the simple moments like these that make me love summer so much. And I couldn't have spent it with a better friend, I think she is the only one who can handle me for long periods of times. Wanna see our adventure??

So here's to summer time and simplicity!

The Sometimes Kind of Days...

I think that often times my blog focuses too much on the perfect. And while it is so important to me to focus on the good in life, sometimes I have a bad day. Sometimes I start my day off wrong by waking up really late and thus being late for class, and sometimes the day ends very poorly by my roommate being really loud and keeping me up all night. And sometimes nothing in between seems to go right. But fortunately these days are only sometimes and these sometimes days make me that much more grateful for the good days. I know I have already shared this quote but I am going to share it again because it is that good: "Everyday may not be good, but there is something good in everyday." I think this is the only thing that gets me through those sometimes kind of days, reminding myself that although it has not been a great day, the Lord has still blessed me SO much and I have SO much to be grateful for. He is the one who gives me the strength to get through. So here's to the sometimes kind of days because they're the ones that make the great days so much more enjoyable!

Life According to My iPhone....

I adore hanging out with these lovely ladies!

Enjoying a warm summer evening in Utah. I know I said I need to be better about enjoying the moment, but I can't help but anticipate the beginning of my summer break!

I got to celebrate this adorable girls b-day with her! Let's just say that I have never met a one year old as loved and adored as she is!

This little guy ran past my feet on my walk home from class the other day. Too adorable!

I always love the beauty of a double rainbow.

The most perfect view for after a run!

Enjoying Every Moment....

Recently I was talking to a friend of mine about how life has seemed to go into ultra super-speed as of late. I mean I have practically been in college for two years now! What happened to the little girl with curly pigtails carrying around a Barbie lunchbox?? During this conversation someone may have made the comment: “We have to live our lives while we still can because we’re practically dead.” Now that was not meant in the negative and emo way that it sounds. It just means that life is too short not to enjoy every moment. Lately I feel like I have been wishing my time at BYUI away. I am always counting down to the end of the semester and while it is always a relief to be done with homework, studying, tests, and unimaginable stress levels, my time here is something that I am going to look back at for the rest of my life and wish I could do-over again, so why wish it away?? Even if it is a day full of meetings, class, homework, studying, and test taking, it can still be a good day! I think President Hinckley said is best: “Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.” What a wise man he was. Don’t just endure to the finish; enjoy the journey! So here is to enjoying each and every moment life has to offer us!
